The City of Kingston is located on the Hudson River, between Albany and New York City, in the Hudson Valley. It has a population of just over 23,000, with approximately 6,000 youth under the age of 19. Data collection has identified that more than 20% of these youth currently live below the poverty level, and that, in comparison with our region, state, and nation, Kingston youth demonstrate a high level of involvement in alcohol, substance use, and criminal activities and a low level of commitment to school. |
