We believe sharing food is so much more than nutrition — it’s about connection.
We began our Kingston Cares Community Meal in June 2018 as a way of strengthening our relationships with friends and neighbors.
Every month, we partner with a host: a community organization, local group or business to provide incredible volunteer power through prep cooks, servers and clean up crew to serve 150-200 meals for dine-in and to-go guests.
We operate this program entirely free to diners through a donation-optional model, that way
everyone is welcome at the table.
Find out how you can support the Kingston Cares Community Meal below!
Want to support the Community Meal?
Host
Sign up to have your local community group or business provide 8-12 volunteers to plan a meal, shop, cook, serve and clean-up. We’ve had groups of all ages, abilities and experience levels host these fun and energetic events — we’d love to hear from you, answer your questions and offer you support in becoming a host!
Volunteer
You can jump in and back up our hosts by becoming a Kingston Cares Community Meal volunteer by cooking, serving or cleaning up. It’s a great way to connect with an enthusiastic crew and get to know other folks who care about food & community.
Donate
We want to eliminate barriers to participation, so our Kingston Cares Community Meal is donation-optional for both diners and hosts. Each nutritious meal costs around $2.50, so your donation of just $10 can sponsor a family of 4. A $20 donation sponsors a table of 8 seniors. Or make a huge impact and become a full meal sponsor for a gift of $600.
We love our incredible volunteers and hosts!
